And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. - 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NKJV).

There are certain things in life that you have to experience to truly appreciate just how great they are. Experiences change perspective. For instance, I never truly appreciated freedom until mine was taken from me. Good and bad experiences have a way of changing your perspective on things you may have looked at differently at one time.

Recently, I woke up feeling a little off. I didn’t sleep well and I felt grumpy. I tried to pray but my mind kept wandering. Instead of reading my Bible app, I mindlessly scrolled on Facebook. The coffee wasn't working and I didn't feel good. By the time I got in the shower, I could tell this was going to be a bad day and I hadn't even left the house, yet. On my way to work, I asked God to help me shake off what I was feeling. The prayer was short and simple.

I'll be honest, in my four plus years of living for God, even my bad days were pretty good. But this day felt different. I needed a touch from God in a bad way because I felt isolated and far away from Him. Throughout the day, there were moments when a song or a thought would hit me just right, and tears would well up in my eyes. At first, I thought 'Why am I such an emotional basket case today? I feel like a crybaby,' but then I felt the presence of Jesus rest on me like a blanket and suddenly I was at peace. The third time it happened, I heard the words, "for My strength is made perfect in weakness." I don't have to have it all together or be perfect, because I serve a Lord and Savior who already is.

I'll say it again: experiences change perspective. My experience has taught me that I have to keep a humble attitude towards my own walk with Jesus; no one gets it right 100% of the time; we all have bad days. My perspective has changed to understand that I can do absolutely nothing apart from Him. That’s what walking in humility is: Seeing Jesus for how big He is even in your smallest moments. It is by His grace, by His mercy, and by His strength that you are able to wake up each and every day of your life and walk in the purpose He has called you to walk in. Remember, He will ALWAYS be faithful to you, even on the days when you feel disconnected and you're in desperate need of a touch from Him. It's on your weakest days that He will strengthen you the most. God Bless!
