Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes; - Isaiah 54:2 (KJV).

Let's imagine for a minute that our verse of the week isn't talking about a dwelling place. What if we applied this verse to our spiritual walk with the Lord? What if we started stretching our faith past the point of our normal routine and began "sparing not" in what we believe the Lord is capable of? It's easy to get comfortable in our walk with God, but God doesn't want us lounging around in our easy chairs. Not at all. God cares so much for us that He doesn't want to leave us where He found us, and in order to do that, it requires us to get out of our comfort zone.

I can't help but think of a woman mentioned in Matthew, Mark, and Luke, who needed a touch from Jesus. Desperate for healing, she was willing to get out of her comfort zone and chase down the only person she knew could help. 27 She had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind him through the crowd and touched his robe. 28 For she thought to herself, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.” 29 Immediately the bleeding stopped, and she could feel in her body that she had been healed of her terrible condition. - Mark 5:27-29 (NLT). She wasn't going to sit still. She got up and out of her daily routine and started reaching for her miracle. The crowds couldn't stop her. Her terrible condition couldn't stop her. She didn't let any obstacles or excuses get in the way of her getting to Jesus and she wasn't stretching for a temporary solution to her problem. She was reaching for the extraordinary and that's exactly what she got.

Do you need Jesus to move in a specific problem or situation that you're going through right now? Then start reaching for Him like the woman with the issue of blood. Start exercising your faith beyond your daily routine and get to a place in your faith that makes you uncomfortable. Jesus doesn't want you settling for ordinary. He wants you to reach for the extraordinary, because He's extraordinary, and He wants more for you than you can even ask, think, or imagine. Stretch out the curtains of your faith and watch what He does! God Bless!
