"So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." - John 8:36 (NIV).

        In the United States of America, we have a saying: “Freedom doesn't come free.” The men and women who fought and died defending this country’s freedom paid the ultimate price. I'm grateful for them and to all those who are still serving today. The freedoms they provide each and every one of us should not be taken for granted. I honestly couldn't imagine living in another country, and because of that, I'm truly proud to be an American!

I'm also proud to be a Christian! Even though I live in a "free" country, I was anything but free when Jesus left the 99 for me! Now, with Jesus as the Lord of my life, I've been set free from all of the things that kept me bound, bruised, and broken. The freedom Jesus offers doesn’t cost us anything, but it came at a price, too. Jesus paid the ultimate price for our spiritual freedom with the blood He shed on Calvary. The price was paid for all of us. Every man, woman, and child can find the freedom that only Jesus offers in whichever country they live in, regardless of race, gender, or economic standing.

Jesus’s mission was to heal, deliver, and set people free! Luke 4:18-19, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.” (KJV). If Jesus was healing, delivering, and setting people free back then, He is most certainly still doing it today! “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” – Hebrews 13:8 (NLT). Jesus doesn’t change. He is still just as powerful and amazing today as He has always been! The Cross still stands, and the blood still flows!

So, this 4th of July, let freedom ring: for the freedoms we have in this great country, and for the countless freedoms Jesus provides to anyone who wants to be set free! He's still a Healer. He's still a Deliverer. He's still the Chain Breaker who sets the captives free! If He did it for me, He'll do it for you! Declare your independence today! God Bless!
