"If you keep quiet at a time like this, deliverance and relief for the Jews will arise from some other place, but you and your relatives will die. Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?” - Esther 4:14 (NLT).
Everywhere you look there are people suffering. From personal problems to world issues, the people we see every day are struggling in some form or another. If Jesus is Lord of your life, then you are getting by better than the ones who don't know Him yet. Not because your suffering is any less than theirs, but through the love of the Savior, you have learned to lean on Jesus during these trying times. I don't believe any of us are here by accident and I certainly don't believe we're to just sit back and watch our friends and families struggle without at least sharing with them how Jesus can help their situation.
In the book of Esther, we see the story of Queen Esther, a Jewish woman who came from nothing to the position of queen. In chapter 4, Esther learns of a plot by one of the king's advisors to completely wipe out all of the Jewish people. The queen has a dilemma: stay quiet and watch her people die or say something to the king and risk being killed herself. Esther's cousin, Mordecai, tries to convince her to reveal her identity as a Jew and save her people. In Esther 4:14, Mordecai tells Esther, "...Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?”
I wonder how many of us have been brought out of a mess and given another chance at life for reasons that we can't see yet? The Apostle Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 1:4, He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. Our people may not be on the verge of annihilation, but they are suffering all the same. How will they know that Jesus is the answer if we don't tell them? What if the Lord has elevated you to a place of influence because someone else's life depended on you telling them about Jesus?
Perhaps the Lord has pulled you out of the darkness so that you can tell others about the Light of the world. Perhaps the Lord has pulled you through the fire so you can help pull others from the flames. Perhaps the Lord pulled you out of a struggle that you weren't sure you would make it through, so you can help someone who is going through the same struggle. Perhaps the Lord has lifted you up, given you a position, and provided you with everything you need to make a difference in someone else's life right now. You're not here by accident; you were born for such a time as this! God Bless!
