Who has believed our message? To whom has the LORD revealed his powerful arm? - Isaiah 53:1 (NLT).
Whose message are you going to believe? There are conflicting messages in the world we live in. On one side, there's a message of faith, hope, and love. On the other, the message consists of fear, doubt, and hate. So, whose message are you going to believe? Whose message are you allowing your children to hear?
We live in a world of instant news and social media influencers at a time when we have more information at our fingertips than can possibly be good for us. Every day we are bombarded with text messages, emails, commercials, YouTube videos, Facebook posts, TikTok videos, and Snapchats. It seems like everyone has a message for us everywhere we fix our eyes. Fox News tells us about peace in the middle east and war on the streets of America, while CNN tells us about war in the middle east and peace on the streets of America. We are stuck in a 24/7 cycle of people trying to get their message into the hearts and minds of anyone who will give them 5 minutes. And we wonder why anxiety and depression are running wild and unchecked in the world.
What's the answer? What's the solution? Turn off the messages of fear, doubt, and hate and open the source of faith, hope, and love about the Good News of Jesus Christ. In other words, we need to turn off the electronics and get in the Word of God. But I have the Bible app on my phone! Yep, so do I. I can't count the number of times I've sat down to read the Bible on my phone, only to find myself engulfed in Facebook reels because of popup notifications that came across my screen. A relationship with Jesus is about turning off the distractions and focusing on Him and Him alone.
So, whose message are you going to believe? Whose message are your children going to believe? The one we are choosing to listen to the most. The Good News is that Jesus has done all the heavy lifting in order for you to live a peaceful, joy-filled life, free from the negativity going on in the world. Jesus isn't asking us to be perfect, but He is asking us to be participants in our own rescue. By turning our attention to Jesus and what He's done, we will limit the negative messages we allow into our lives and into the lives of our children. God Bless!
