Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it. - 1 Peter 3:15 (NLT).
The enemy wants every Christian to be silent. He wants us too scared to open our mouths and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, for fear of what might happen. The enemy celebrates when we let a conviction to share the Gospel with a stranger pass by, because we let our nerves get the best of us. The enemy loves it when we spend more time arguing with each other than we do explaining to others about the hope that lies within us. Make no mistake about it, the enemy wants us silent, and he will go to any length to keep us that way.
Why? Because the enemy and all of his minions have been silenced by the One we serve. This was on full display throughout the Gospels of Mark and Luke. But Jesus reprimanded him. “Be quiet! Come out of the man,” he ordered. At that, the demon threw the man to the floor as the crowd watched; then it came out of him without hurting him further. - Luke 4:35 (NLT). Again, in Mark 1:34, So Jesus healed many people who were sick with various diseases, and he cast out many demons. But because the demons knew who he was, he did not allow them to speak. And again, in Luke 4:41, Many were possessed by demons; and the demons came out at his command, shouting, “You are the Son of God!” But because they knew he was the Messiah, he rebuked them and refused to let them speak. The enemy has been silenced, and he would love nothing more than for God's people to be silent, as well.
We, as Christians, have been given all power and authority over the enemy (Lk 10:19). The Apostle Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 10:3-4, We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. (NLT). What are our weapons? Prayer, our testimonies, and most importantly, the mighty Name of Jesus! When we speak the Name of Jesus over any situation, we are inviting the presence and the power of the Lord to have His way in it. Philippians 2:10, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, (NLT).
Don't let what's happening in the world take your voice away. That's what the enemy wants. Stay prayed up. Share your testimony. Speak the Name of Jesus. It's by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimonies that we overcome the wicked one (Rev 12:11)! Don't be silenced. Tell someone about Jesus today! And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, explain it! God Bless!
