I'll sure be glad when winter is behind us! This latest round of snow and ice in southeast Missouri has been crazy and dangerous, so if you have to be out and about be careful. Just when I thought nothing good could come out of this nasty weather, God reminded me of just how crazy my addiction made me when it came to inclement weather and making sure I had drugs before I got stuck somewhere.
Shevon and I went to the grocery store to make sure we had all the "necessary" supplies we needed just in case we couldn't leave the house for a couple of days. Of course, we waited until the last minute, so the roads were already getting treacherous when we were on our way to Wal-Mart on Monday evening. We both laughed at our poor planning, realizing that only "crazy" people would have gotten out in that mess.
The next day, I was thinking about how bad the roads were the night before when I started remembering how many times I would drive in icy conditions to make it to the dope house or to meet someone to pick up more drugs. No thoughts about how dangerous the roads were or the danger I put myself and/or other people in ever occurred to me. My only concern was making sure I had enough drugs to last me until I could get out again. My mind was consumed with my addiction and there wasn't room for any other thoughts.
I thank God that today I am a new creature in Christ! I thank God that the promises in the Bible hold true no matter what the weather is doing outside! Isaiah 26:3 says, "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee." (KJV). Today, I keep my mind on God and not on the drugs that literally killed me. How do you keep your mind stayed on Him? By reading your Bible and praying daily, you not only keep your mind on God but you change your old thoughts into new thoughts. Romans 12:2 states, "And be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." I pray that everyone reading this finds the perfect peace that only comes from keeping our minds stayed on God!! In Jesus Name. Amen.

This is such an awesome ministry! Thank you both for your commitment to helping others and for sharing your testimony with anyone who is willing to listen. Can’t wait to hear what God is going to do through this ministry! - Kevin Raposo
