Savage About Sobriety January 30, 2023

Welcome to the first installment of Savage About Sobriety! My name is Kevin Young and I am a Redeemed addict who has found a new purpose in life after drugs and alcohol. After overdosing on fentenyl in March, 2022, I found myself looking for a solution to my repeated drug use and the failures in my life caused by my addiction.

Through prayer and reading my Bible, I discovered the answer is Jesus Christ. Now the problems I experienced as a still suffering addict, which left me with no desire to continue living, have been replaced with a new life that does not require the use of drugs. Loneliness has been replaced with a Friend who never leaves my side, depression has been replaced with a joy that I can't keep inside, and the defeat I felt in all areas of my life has been replaced with a victory in Jesus that I have to tell others about.

So this blog is me telling you, the reader, about the mercy and grace that was freely given to me by Jesus Christ. Acts 3:6 - "Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have I give thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk." This will be our approach with Shevon and I's Savage2Saint Ministry. As Jesus Christ has given us our sobriety, our testimonies, and a calling to reach out to still suffering addicts, we will freely tell others about Jesus Christ and how a relationship with Him will change your life from defeat in addiction to Victory in Jesus.
