Say to those who are fearful-hearted, "Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God; He will come and save you." Isaiah 35:4 (NKJV)

Did you know "do not be afraid " is in the Bible 365 times? One for everyday of the year. Amazing isn't it? Everyday of the year, everyday of our lives there is God reminding us that He is here fighting with us. In fact He's already conquered the battle for us, He needs us to be fearless against our enemies.

Once I decided to stop living a life that consisted of drug use, I mean, really decided that I wanted more out of life than what I had been settling with, I knew I was about to step onto a battlefield and fight an enemy that I have never fought before. An enemy that I was clueless about as far as how it was going to attack, what was its strengths, etc... I knew that this enemy had defeated a lot of people I knew. Stronger people than I thought myself to be. Fear began to sink in...and without even knowing or realizing it had happened the enemy made its first move. It attacked me without touching me, it attacked me with FEAR. I was afraid that I couldn't do this!

I struck back.... I prayed for God to help me because prayer is how we are supposed to fight our battles! I asked God to guard me from slipping back into darkness. God heard my prayer, as He always does. It's funny how God knows what we need before we even know we need it (Romans 8:26,27). The Lord answers prayers in many different ways. For some of us it's in the form of a job and for others it might be just putting the right people around us that help us succeed. For me, it came in the form of someone to help pull me up when I fall, someone who holds me accountable, and someone who I get to grow with in our spiritual walk together. Kevin and I truly believe in our hearts that God has put us together. He placed a person in my life that has fought the battle I was currently fighting. He knew I needed a life partner to go through life's struggles.

Friends, I won't lie to any of y'all. It is an everyday battle staying in recovery. Some days it's easy, other days it's hard. You maybe thinking 'I don't have someone like you do to help me win this battle.' Well you're wrong bc you do. His name is Jesus Christ and there nothing, NOTHING, He can't do!
